Fontbase not activating3/17/2023 I wonder if it is possible to implement support for this feature or maybe it is not possible because of the way Inkscape load available fonts. If you cant close it for any reason, use task manager on Windows or force quit on Mac. I was testing with FontBase and indeed the activated fonts appear in the font selection drop-down list in Word Processors (the simple WordPad for example), but unfortunately not in Inkscape (tried with v.1.1.1 and 1.2 devel), even if you exit and re-run the program. Or right click the folder and pick Activat. This will let you use fonts that you may not need to use in some other projects, so there is no need to actually install it. To activate a folder and all fonts inside of it, simply use the circle toggle on the left side of the folder name. FontBase looks amazing, but it cant activate fonts in Adobe Apps, can it. XD wont pick up any fonts from FontBase. Recently I have found that some font managers lets you temporarily activate fonts, and the font becomes listed in the font selection drop-down list as long as the font manager is running (and even, in some software, there is no need to close and run the program again for the font to appear listed). FontBases main pro is its main drawback - not needing to install fonts is great, but opening files using fonts not installed may not show them properly unless FontBase is also opened. Recently moved from Mac to Windows - installed the latest versions of Adobe CC apps - and FontBase for font management. As you probably know, having a lot of fonts installed on the system (at least it is true for Windows) increases booting times.
